THE ART OF HAND-KNOTTING

Hand-knotting is a time-honored, meditative heritage craft where jewellery is meticulously built from the ground up using fine silk thread and natural elements. Rather than being quickly strung on wire, each gemstone is individually secured with a precise, intentional knot tied entirely by hand.

Using pure silk cord and specialised knotting tools, at Omen we manipulate the thread with careful tension control, securing each semi-precious stone in place. This traditional method requires an incredible degree of patience and material knowledge; the silk must be tensioned perfectly to allow the piece to drape fluidly against the skin without stretching over time.

By incorporating solid 9k gold and sterling silver findings, the structural integrity of the piece is guaranteed for generations. The result is a collection of understated, heirloom-quality jewellery that celebrate a slow, tactile process, entirely guided by hand.

Founded by London-based jewellery designer Fleur, Omen creates modern heirlooms with a mindful spirit. Each piece is meticulously hand-knotted by Fleur and her small team using fine silk, precious metals and natural gemstones from her independent studio.
